A graduate of Ryerson
University, Richard Pierre worked in a variety of film positions, gradually
building knowledge and expertise that would provide the foundation for his
work as a director.
Richard was
the winner of the TUFF 2011: NAISH MCHUGH AWARD FOR EMERGING
FILMMAKERS as juried by ATOM EGOYAN for his film, FRESH START.

He recently completed a music video for local indie band ‘The Good Lovelies’
and helmed a very short comedic short film titled: ‘Never Talk to Strangers’
about what happens when friendly flirtation goes wrong.
His feature length screenplay, 'Crooked' was selected as a quarter-finalist
for the 2009 Nicholl Fellowship, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences.
He is currently seeking representation for commercial as well as music video
